Aims and Objectives

This project uses a diversity of methods to build an understanding of:

  • The experiences of risk for Black and Asian people;
  • The different constructions of risk in relation to their peers, families and the professionals with whom they interact;
  • The combination of 'risk' and protective factors which can lead to resilience or susceptibility and how these can change over time through the transition from youth to adulthood;
  • The young peoples' mediation of risk and how this supports them in the process of transition to adulthood.
